Surfing in the Pacific Northwest is an entirely different beast compared to the sun-soaked, predictable breaks of Southern California. Up here, the coastline changes by the mile, the water demands thick rubber, and every single wave is its own animal. If you've ever paddled out at Seabrook, Westport, the Olympic Peninsula, or Oregon's rugged beaches, you know that standard, assembly-line surfboards don't always cut it in our unique conditions.
That’s where Bauer Surfboards comes in and we are very excited to carry their boards in the shop now.
Built by a Shaper Who Knows the Water

Behind the brand is Chris Bauer, a master shaper with a deep pedigree. Chris spent a decade refining his skills in California before moving up to the Pacific Northwest, where he has been shaping and riding waves for the last 15 years. This combination of classic California design theory and years of firsthand cold-water experience gives him a unique understanding of what a board needs to do up here.
Bauer Surfboards are entirely hand-crafted, meaning every curve, rail, and rocker is intentionally dialed in. Because the PNW demands versatility, Bauer builds everything from sleek shortboards and retro fish designs to funboards and beautiful, classic longboards.
Made Right, Sourced Locally

What makes Bauer stand out isn't just the final shape, but the raw integrity of how the boards are built. They prioritize high-quality blanks, glass, and resins, acting as a proud reseller for Fiberglass Supply to help supply the Olympic Peninsula with premium construction materials. They partner with respected names like Futures Fins and DRD4 Fins, while heavily collaborating with local Northwest artists to give the boards a distinct, authentic look.
